Rolex Master GMT 2 / Panerai GMT
« on: May 08, 2012, 05:25:39 PM »
To all sifu and watch lover,
Finally after months of this watch poison, I finally summit myself to fate
My criteria is GMT is a must have. Time zone is critical when I need to call oversea. It will be a day to day watch.
I'm thinking of Rolex Master GMT 2 or Panerai GMTm :Blue:
Which watch will you choose or recommend?

Tq

what is your budget, wrist size?? For Rolex GMT, are you referring to the GMTIIc or the GMTII? For PAM GMT, are you referring to the 88? 320?

Good question. Never thought of my wrist size. Should I measure it first? How?
I'm referring to GMT2c and Pam 320 or any other choice. Budget around 25k

I prefer Rolex GMTIIc

Panerai's GMT is too busy. i prefer Panerai with a less busy dial

It all depends. Do you move about (across time zones) much? Do you need to track GMT? Or do you need to track a particular time zone? The PAM00320 is a 12 hour GMT with no day and night indicator while the Rolex is a true GMT watch.

With rm25k++, you can deal for 2 preloved rolex.. A gmt master2 and an explorer2. Both with gmt function. Go for rolex because their 2nd time zone is easier to set rather than panerai's.

between your choice of GMT2c and Panerai, i would recommend GMT2c.

but do consider looking at the Rolex Explorer 2 as well. tracks another single timezone much better since it gives you night/day indication. i set mine to UTC+0 so it's easier to count other time zones as offsets from that.

Thank you to all the sifu feedback.
No, I do not move across time zone but just need to track time zone on different country.

pam 320 will be a great choice if u can accept big watch. as some say u can change the strap once u get bored. diff color and material strap makes the watch looks diff and like a new watch again. Further more this watch come with easy strap change system where u can change strap easily.

GMT2c, really cantik!  Especially the two tone versions! The numbering on the Bezel in gold really WOW!

For pure stainless steel, can consider the Explorer 2 also because it looks nicer in SS and is quite big/legible. I'm not a leather strap fan so not really into PAMs.

Look around in the for sale thread here. Going to the AD/Reseller won't get you good discount if any discount at all. Some of the seller here are really honorable. See the watch before you deal. There might be minor scratch or ding that bothers you which may not show on the photograph on the post.

I think GMTIIc is really the one you should aim for. I love panerai but only the base model. Unless is a Mare :P

Tyler

GMTIIc unless you are looking at a PAM321 then I'd go with PAM because of the extra PR complication.
