Hello guys...
Selling off my 3 year old Proton Persona and planning to upgrade to SUV type vehicle.
Currently only the Hyundai Tucson catches my fancy...
Anyone had any experience on the new breed of Hyundai cars?
Thanks.

Copycat frm what bro?
From what I see... they appointed an own design team that came up with the Fluidic Sculpture Theme and it looks smashing at the moment.
Engine wise they joint venture with Mitsu and Kia to come up with GEMA world engine... which gives good power in paper.
The only drawback I can think of if resale value... but we are bound to lose money on cars right?

Have you test drive Santa Fe or Sorento, at least you have 7 seaters when needed, can cope for future family grow, and not sacrifice the 4 wheel riding, just my opinion

Tried the Sonata, nothing to shout about.
For the price paid the options are little.
Engine is smooth but no much TQ.

I am a regular visitor of Paultan... aren't we all?  ;D
Just need some feedback on the Hyundai tucson or any other SUV that might meet my budget and needs?

Why not try the Kia Sportage? Seems to be good value for money though I can't vouch for comfort and handling.
Looks like the Sportage has outshines it's bigger cousign Tuscon in every aspect. The best way to decide is to head to the showroom for test drives.

BTW, the pug 3008 is not bad too.

Why don't add an extra RM10K and go for the Kia Sorento? If I were looking for a 7-seater SUV, it's gonna be my best bet. Do a google for its review, and you'll be surprised as to how good it's been rated elsewhere.

small size, i prefer Kia's Sportage, bigger size, i prefer Hyundai's SantaFe.
both fits your budget nicely.

or else go for 2nd hand RAV4 2.4 litre but recon.

It looks great, review also not bad. But being Korean made, not so much of quality issue ............... definately better than local one, ............. just the copycat image & their shameless culture of robbing other nation heritage & registered 'em as their own really put me off. :mooning:

Done deal... dropped booking fee for a Hyundai Sonata...  ;D
Now the long wait for the car to arrive...
I know I know... initially I was looking for an SUV but it somehow strayed to a mid sized saloon...  :HammerHead:

Got my Sonata yesterday.
I bought the 2.0 high spec and comes packed with alot of goodies.
I am very satisfied with the car.
Granted is is not a Merc or Beemer but I think it gave the T and H a run for their money.
The 2 litre engine paired with the 6 speed gearbox provides adequate power...
I drove my boss' 2.4 litre version and I find it a little to eager, for daily use, I find the 2 litre one more enjoyable to drive.
Pricewise is cheap compared to the usual offerings frm T and H but the Sonata comes with keyless entry and start /stop button, panoramic sunroof, 6 speed gearbox and a killer design... for my eyes.
Comes with 5 year or 300000km warranty so I can have the car for 5 years without any worries...
After 5 years? Well, might post another thread here looking for a new ride...

Congrat Bro, Sonata is picking up in term of design and features. Yes, it will give a run to the T and H. But in KL, still see a lot of T on the road, but less H nowaday.
