Where to find Rolex parts other than RSC?
« on: September 09, 2017, 04:11:52 PM »
Hi all, I have a 116610LN for quite some time now and was thinking of adding a personal touch to it. I have always been a fan of the 16610LV (Green bezel black dial combination) and was thinking sourcing for a green ceramic bezel (I know purists may disagree with changing the outlook of your watch but the thought just came to my mind). I've seen dial swaps in datejust and its very common.

Are there stores or other sources which sells parts such as inserts, bezels and dials for the 6 digit submariners in Malaysia or SG other than eBay?

Very unlikely.

With RSC current practice, they wants the watch to be registered first to ensure the watch genuine then only they sell the part to watchsmith. The watchsmith somemore is required to return the damaged part to RSC compulsorily.

Hi Cocas, thanks for the reply. Didn't know it also happens to watchsmiths as well. Thanks the info.

Probably you could try searching online for it? I am sure there are sellers for both original and after market ceramic bezel.

Hi T816B, yes online is definitely the main way but looking for other alternatives. I did try to keep a look out for available original parts that I want but they're quite hard to come by and usually prices are crazy high! Lol. Another thing is the authenticity of the part since there's lots of after market spare parts being sold around.

ive been told rolex have pulled back all supplies to watchmakers and wont sell parts out anymore.... RSC will only do 1 for 1 and will not change for different parts....
As far as ceramic goes im pretty sure they need a special tool to change it as its not the same as the old 5 digit subs with aluminium bezel(which is a easy DIY)
You can prob source an aftermarket one but id be scared to trust anyone removing the genuine one without cracking it.... if you can source a complete bezel assembly genuine its gonna cost a bucketload and if you can find an aftermarket one id be concerned about it fitting......... personally i wouldnt chance it but if you manage to pull it off make sure you put up pics... would love to see it

You may find Rolex parts from second hand watch shop or specialised repair service watch shop. However, you need to make sure it is authentic. Make sure they allow you to verify the parts in other Rolex shops for refundable or exchange purpose.

@Canook, yeah that's why if possible get one with the assembly as well. Just plug and play lol. But as you said, it's gonna cost an arm and leg just for that spare part. Lol.

@WatchGalaxyMelawatiMall, thanks for the suggestions. Not too familiar with the second hand shops and watch repair shops especially in West Malaysia though. But how do you recommend I approach them? Ask them straight if they have any 6 digit parts for sale? Or will they usually display it. Thanks again.
