Experience with WING WAH?
« on: August 10, 2017, 08:00:41 AM »
Hi members,

Does anyone have any experience with Wing Wah?

They have a shop and all, I know this is a stupid question, but since I'm buying used watch for the first time, I wanna ask is there a possibility that a shop sells (whether intentionally or accidentally) fake watches?

Thanks for your responses!

Over priced and arrogant bunch. Personally will never deal with them.

their price is a bit higher than market, but come out with good service and buy-back guarantee, even though some piece I bought is over polished. Just my 2 cents

Bought 4 watches from Wing Wah in a span of 3 months. Service and follow up wise, so-so.

Pricing depends. You can get quite a deal from them on some items while other items can be on the high side. I guess it has something to do with their business model. I suspect the commission paid to their sales staff depends on how little discount they give. If they can sell at the sticker price then they probably get an incentive or something.

Might not be true but that's the impression I get. Despite having bought a few watches I still find it difficult to make friends with the sales staff though I've tried. Unlike some other proprietor businesses where you buy directly from the business owner, they will actually follow up with you and update you on their latest arrivals and such.

Would I buy from Wing Wah again? Yeah I would because as i've said you can get some good deals on certain items but given a choice I would prefer to buy from a proprietor.

So far pretty good experience after several cheap & expensive time pieces over a year. I think the trick is to pick one salesgirl that you get along with and stick with her. I get frequent updates from mine and she always responds quickly to my messages too.

Not everything is cheapest but as some pointed out, they have buy-back guarantees.  And you can't put a price on history & reputation... WW has been around even before many of us were born ... ;-)

Thought their prices generally are at least 20% higher than dealing direct with owners.

Their watches are usually in good condition but 10-20% higher than market rate. Advise you to check out the shop before buying, heard the workers have bad attitude  :Startled:

when you're buying from reputable shops like wing wah, it is known that their prices are higher. everything comes with a price, you are buying security and assurance the watch is genuine.

Went to Wing Wah twice. Based on my experience, prices are more on the high side but guaranteed to be authentic and they have a shop to back their reputation. Had a bad experience in my second visit when asking to try watches, found that their salesperson was a bit arrogant. Came in with a consideration to shop, left without it.

I just got a PAM90 from them...true about the tat bit arrogant and non-negotiable part...and they even gave me the wrong manual in the set...but they were kind enough to offer a refund.

In terms of cash price - you get a slight discount compared to paying by card - can do wire transfer, don’t have to be cold hard cash
