Suggestion for Casual Watch
« on: August 07, 2017, 04:47:09 PM »
Guys,
I'm looking to buy a watch which i can just put whenever i'm just going out for a normal stroll in the mall or else where and do not want to put some expensive watch from my collection.
Budget is between 3-5K and i'm open for both used or new.
Any suggestions?
Also what's your view of Fortis watches and where do you put among Hamilton, ORIS and Longines?

You already have an Oris Diver 65. I think that is the best choice for your needs. If not, you may consider something from Tissot such as the Visodate or one with the new Powermatic movement.

I recently sold my ORIS (regret though, long story) so that's why now want to buy some casual watch again.
I don't have a pilot or sport watch in my collection yet and was thinking to buy a pilot or support if possible.

Maybe something different like a Strela could be fun. Russia's version of the speedmaster.

Guys,
I'm looking to buy a watch which i can just put whenever i'm just going out for a normal stroll in the mall or else where and do not want to put some expensive watch from my collection.
Budget is between 3-5K and i'm open for both used or new.
Any suggestions?
Also what's your view of Fortis watches and where do you put among Hamilton, ORIS and Longines?

Have you made up your mind?

On top of my head, I would say Damasko (DA36), Sinn (556 or 856), Oris (Sixty-five) or a Bremont (Solo).

As an owner of a Laco 42mm flieger, I would say it is not a comfortable everyday watch, but it is casual.

I would pick a diver of some sort - these are more comfortable, have a rotating bezel to help you keep track of time allocated on tasks, and there are a lot of them to choose from. With your budget you can probably get more than one!

How about the micro brands? Sevenfriday, Dietrich, Zelos, Vilhelm, Steinhart are some i personally own and can stand for their quality. Some maybe slightly over priced than the other but ultimately if it attracts u then price point shouldn't matter.

For German brands i would go straight to Nomos!

Hamilton and Oris are both my choices in this price range.
