New Autavia Heuer in 2017
« on: September 12, 2016, 06:30:21 PM »
https://monochrome-watches.com/exclusive-first-look-at-the-tag-heuer-autavia-2017-the-result-of-the-autavia-cup/

Tag Heuer asked which one of their vintage watches that people wanted them to remake. And this Autavia Heuer "Rindt" got voted the most so will be remade. The older version was 38mm, this new one will be in 42mm. Please read the article.

Amazing chrono watch. Time to save up! ????

interesting article.

The only thing that bothers me with this piece is the date at 6 O'clock.

A better location for the date would be between the 4- and 5 -o'clock position.

date will help them to sell

just like all the longines heritage pieces

anyway, small date at 6 is still very balance the dial

good move to reissue this for sure

next big million dollar question is

with this in house movement, how much tag going to price it?

rm25k? or 30k?

Thanks for sharing, I once listed the reissue in my 2017 wish list that's frankly, pretty short.
The date window (along with most of those in longines heritage) look like a deal breaker to me, especially when they have the wrong alignment.
On a positive note, I should now reconsider an el primero

Not too bad then for this pricing. I would have guessed it to be about RM 20K, but then, will be difficult to sell.

I have to agree with you on this totally. I do not adjust the date on my watches that come with the date complication, too troublesome.

Speaking from an owner and date-hater (when badly incorporate), I would says that the date on autavia is actually handled reasonable well. On wrist, you can hardly see the date, unless you look for it. It is there when needed, you can't see on a casual glance

Yes, very likely. There are no many date disk suppliers available. It's very expensive if sourcing the tailored made date disk.

I have no objection about the date window is placed at 6 o'clock position. Just that I prefer it is totally without the date window.

They gave you 15% directly even at the boutique for a brand new watch out only few weeks before at the time he bought it. I was willing to buy it before but managed to wear my buddy's watch a couple of hours and I was done with it. There was something odd with it on my wrist. Maybe it was trying to be too vintage to me. Not sure but I got it out of my wishlist very quickly. That saved me a lot of money and the usual problem of trying to sell back a watch in Malaysia.

I don't know about you guys, but I love the design. It just works, even the date window. ;D
