Official 2010 Formula-1 thread
« on: July 12, 2010, 07:02:14 AM »
Now dont tell me there isnt any F1 fans in out forum right? ;D

Lets start one although its already middle of the season.

On this last race although RedBull did not give Webber "wings"  :P, he still won it.

His line after the cross the finish line is hilarious!

"not bad for the no. 2 driver" - webber

LOL thats right on the dot  :P

Props to Nico as well! I kinda still favor him for the next WDC next to Vettel.

I used to be a big F1 fan in my college/uni days. Went for the 1st F1 race in Sepang back in 97/98. My first and probably my last one. It's way too hot.

Would love to go for the Monaco GP in my lifetime.

Lost interest in F1 during those years when Schuey was dominating the sport. Man, I still remember that stupid move in the US GP, where he slowed to allow rubens to catch up with him so they could cross the line together and allowed rubens to win. That was it for me.

But I am still a McLaren fan from those days.

Got a little more interesting when Alonso stopped the Schuey steam roll, but by then I wasn't as fanatic as before.

On the subject of no. 1 and no. 2 drivers, I think Schuey in Ferrari is a good example on how this setup can work. It was always made clear that schumi is the no. 1 in ferrari so there was no delusions from his team mate that they would be treated equally. It gave him and ferrari 5 titles in a row!

I think the problems comes when there is no transparency, be it intentional or un-intentional by the team's management.

IMHO, I don't think either red bull drivers will win the title this year. They may have the fastest car on the track, but all this drama will be their downfall. Some similarities with McLaren when they had hamilton and alonso few years back.

But then again, Button and Hamilton seems to a good working relationship (on the surface of it!). I put my money on Hamilton. He had all the bad luck last year, but this year is vice versa. Karma!

I'd like to see more from Vettel. The lad's talented but still needs some maturing to do.

Red Bull's performance in F1 is good for Casio though.  :P

For me the future of the sport is 3 person Roseberg, Vettel and dare i say Kobayashi.
I just love the fighting style and spirit of Kamui and if given a good car i think he will go places.
But i actually kinda sad to see Bourdais leave the way he did. Dont understand how a 4 time ChampCar champ can perform so bad in F1.

i am a fan of Kimi when he was still in F1.
now can't watch every F1 race on TV because study in Uni, no TV.
this season is fantastic and i think the team champion would be red bull or mclaren.

I will always be a Kimi fan.
To me he is a natural born fast driver. No BS just get in and drive.

I think the best driver on the track right now is Alonso. Although he burned his bridges with mclaren on the spygate scandal, gotta give him credit where its due.

He has outperform all his team mates, except when in mclaren (but that's another story). He can find that little bit extra from his car that no one can. And he still drives 101% when the chips are down which admirable.

Its hard to find F1 driver outside. Most ppl dont really like F1 as they think it is "Boring Turning Around the tract For 1 and 1/2 Hours"

Mc Laren does not win the race much as Red Balls but they are very consistent unlike the RB where they team-mate bump into each other or sheet (unlucky event) happend to them. Now they are on top of the standing  (not a fan of Mclaren tho)

I just enjoy F1 no matter which driver or team so long i got to enjoy watching good racing (like the old days 90's)

German GP is coming up this weekend, anyone think a German can win it?
Closest i think which can do the job (by a long shoot) is Roseberg, or maybe even Sutil can surprise everyone?

I am going to expect another Red Ball front row lock during qualifying and hopefully they dont screw up during the race.

I dont care who win so long hamilton doesnt win  :Scolding:

One more pic i found over the weekend.
For those who watch Top Gear.

BTW why is he wearing a Tag watch?
Isn't he supposed to be sponsored by JLC or Hublot?

On a side note, i am glad that Mschu is handed a 10-place penalty for the next race.
From tv it didnt look so damn close as this pic!
1-2 more inches and we might have a HUGE accident.

On yet another side note, in motorsports Kimi is still the most valuable athelete at $34m  :P
That could but a whole lot of ice creams  :Laughing_on_floor:

Still waiting for the day he will come back to F1.

Any of you seen the monza race? I really like of the Alonso pit crew did a super super good job in the pit even tho the pit stop difference between button and him are very small.

F1 is my only favourite sports now.

My favourites driver used to be Kimi, but he speaks to himself only, no one understands. fed up with him ! :Scolding:

These are the ones whom I wish will win this session : Alonso, Jenson and... Vettal, but he is too far behind now. :Praying:

Mark Webber? ... don't know why... just don't like his face!

At last someone to talk F1 with me here haha.
Well all the person you mentioned won this year, just not the DC yet hehe.

Kimi is still my fav, i dont care if i cant understand him he just so yau yeng.
Rumor now he is talking to Renault maybe we will be seeing him again next year.
Kimi is still the most "naturally" fast driver, besides him i think Alonso is the most well rounded drive on the grid now, give him any car and he can drive it to the fullest.
