HELBERG CH6 pre-order MADDOG + ISOFRANE special
« on: October 25, 2013, 09:28:41 PM »
Just thought I'd share this very interesting pre-order by Helberg, or the guys at H2O.

Launched on 21st October (Monday), and delivery in April/May 2014, you can now make a customised order for a stainless steel at USD450, and bronze at USD495.

This sounds like a steal for me. Full customisation of case material, dial colour, bezel inlay, sapphire crystal flat or dome, straps!!!

Just decided to jump the gun and order. First 300 orders get a free MADDOG strap.

Ordered this configuration, blue bezel, bronze case, solid bronze bezel, gold needles AND blue ISOFRANE strap.

Now only pay USD300 for whatever the configuration. Balance when nearing delivery date.

Here are some of the options :

Although the case design is similar to an Olivier or Helson, but the price value is quite astounding. Anyways, have a look and you'll know what I mean.

p/s : Admin, Please advise if I violated any forum rules here and will edit accordingly.

saw this a few days ago.
wouldnt exactly call it a steal, it is decent value though.
only turn-off for me is the lug-to-lug of 50.5mm, and with the case looking pretty flat, it'll probably overhang my wrist a little even though its 7.25".

The case and design looks very much like a failed and undelivered project previously. Will try to google it up.

How does the zixen wear for you?
I mean does the 44mm dive watch look large or fitting on your wrist? Some PIC shots would be great coz I don't know if the CH6 will be too big when it arrives.

Finally took the plunge eh? Welcome to the club bro! Now its just the wati....
Did you get the Isofrane as well? Orange looks great with the bronze.

You do know a brown leather strap is already included. Means if you get Isofrane there'll be 3 straps for 1 watch!!!

According to watchuseek forum for CH6, many speculated its very similar between Zixen Trimix instead of Olivier.

But Trimix at USD1000 against CH6 at USD500 is certainly a huge difference in value. Nonetheless both companies have different histories (and overhead costs).

Chris, what is your wrist size? Mine is 7 inch. I believed the watch should be suitable enough for my wrist.

7" is ok, the lugs is short...

photo look bigger on wrist most of the time due to lens capture object nearer, blurring the background

50mm is pretty standard nowadays.
Submariner already 48mm...

50.50mm on a 7" is just about the limit, but seeing as its a flat case its going to look abit weird.
the POXL also has a lug to lug of 51mm, and well needless to say lots of debate on how it fits on anything more than 7" too :P

I would say the lug size is not the only way to gauge how the watch fits.
The case shape, lug shape, lug design, caseback shape and etc...
Normally, a 40mm watch will have to be extended 4mm to the top and bottom which makes the lug to lug length at 48.
A 42mm case would have a 50mm lug to lug length.
This is just a rule of thumb. There are many variations.
That's why the best way is to try out the watch.
After many years of buying blind online and relying on spec sheets, I have had my fair share of miss steps... hehehe

yes i know lug size isnt the only factor.
which is why i also mentioned its pretty flat case and lugs that can be seen from the pics.
then again, if ppl can wear wall clocks on their wrists, then i guess this is nothing :P

Can you really tell if a watch wears well just by knowing the dimensions? It would also depend on the wearer's preference to the watch right?

theres like a redundant question in there.
if the wearer already has preference on certain type of watches, and has tried others with similar design and measurements...that would mean the wearer would be able to give a pretty good guess how its going to wear without trying.
