KL Newbie - New Seiko Vintage Fan
« on: February 24, 2015, 01:26:04 PM »
Hi,

I'm newbie from Puchong-KL.

Recently received Seiko Diver 7S26-0020 and Chrono 6138-0011, actually both belong to my late father but now I'm more like the caretaker most likely will own it hehehe.

Diver 7S26-0020 I bought for him >10 years ago still in good condition yesterday bought a rubber strap (seller said original) cost me RM70.

Chrono 6138-0011 nickname Yacthman or UFO a bit rusty and not working. He bought it somewhere mid 70's. I plan to restore it.

The dial and crystal in pretty bad shape.. the hands look ok to me.. the case, button, crown, bazel and insert look good to me.. not sure the inside. The bracelet engraved with SpeedTimer also still in good condition.

Any idea on best way to restore it? I just do not trust shop with no recognition. People in watchuseek told me to post it to Loyswatch of Phillippines.

Hi,

Yup already contacted Thongsia and they said they did not have the spare parts and unable to propose me any shop due to company policy.

Some picture which I post at watchuseek, not sure your guys can view it or not..

Guys..

Project is on.. what a rusty inside.. will be a major overhaul.. manage to get nos dial from ebay hope arrived safely.. saw one in mudah.my but the subdial look different.. hope not to get some that a low quality dial.. only thing no more SpeedTimer but Chronograph Automatic without 70m sign. Maybe consider to replace the crystal but will try to clean the original crystal before consider buying some nos out there.
